Key points of this article:
- Steam on Mac gets everything the Windows version has plus a feature called Steam Play, so you can buy a game on one platform and (should the need arise) download it on the other at no extra cost.
- Source now supports OpenGL.
- All future releases and updates will be released simultaneously on both Windows and Mac. Also, both sides can share the same servers, lobbies, etc.
- The first game to feature a simultaneous release will be Portal 2.
It remains to be seen if other developers will follow suit and create Mac native versions of their games, but Valve is going for it with all they got.
